Monthly Electricity Bill (R):

Use the slider or type in the box to enter how much you pay for electricity each month. For example, if your bill is R2000, set it to 2000.

Cost of Power (R/kWh):

This is how much your electricity costs per kilowatt-hour. Use the slider or type in the box to set it. If your electricity costs R2.50 per kWh, set it to 2.50.

Energy Storage (%):

This is for nighttime usage. Estimate what percentage of your electricity you use at night. For example, if you think you use 40% of your electricity at night, set it to 40%.

Reduce My Bill By (%):

Decide what percentage of your electricity bill you want to eliminate with solar power. For example, if you want to cut your bill by 80%, set it to 80%.

Understanding the Results:

Monthly Power Consumption: This shows how much electricity you use in a month in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Average Daily Power Consumption: This shows how much electricity you use each day on average in kWh.

Battery Bank Required: This tells you the size of the battery bank you need to store energy for nighttime use, in kWh.

Solar Energy Required Daily: This shows how much solar energy you need each day in kWh to meet your goal of reducing your bill.

Electricity Savings Monthly: This shows how much money you can save each month on your electricity bill.

New Electricity Bill: This shows what your new monthly electricity bill will be after using solar power.

Grid Power Feed In/Out pm: This shows if you will use extra grid power (negative value) or feed power back to the grid (positive value).

Annual Savings: This shows your total savings in a year from using solar power.

System Recommendations:

Inverter Size: This tells you the size of the inverter you need for your solar power system in kW.

Battery Size: This tells you the total battery capacity you need in kWh.

Number of Solar Panels: This tells you how many solar panels you need. It's based on using 550W panels and assumes 10 hours of sunshine per day.

Number of Mounting Kits: This tells you how many mounting kits you need for your solar panels.

Note:

The energy storage field is important for estimating nighttime usage. Think about how much of your total power you use at night and enter that percentage. This calculator gives you estimates to help plan your solar power system, but it's always good to get a professional to do a proper site analysis.
